The International Council of Air Shows Foundation's
AIR SHOW HALL
of FAME was created in 1995 to honor those who have made a
significant contribution to the air show industry. Recognizing
the industry's top performers is one of the clearest goals and
purposes of the Foundation; there are so many unrecognized
heroes and legends from the business. But it's not just
about honoring a couple of people every year - it's also about
educating the people in our industry about their own past, and
educating the larger air show community of fans, sponsors,
potential fans and potential sponsors about the very long and
illustrious history of air shows.
Eligibility
Inductees to the Air Show Hall of Fame must meet the following
criteria:
-
The inductee can be from any field in the
air show industry. This would include, but is not limited
to, pilots, stuntpersons, announcers, designers, producers
and builders.
-
The inductee made a contribution that had
a significant impact upon the air show industry. The
inductee’s contribution may be demonstrated through
showmanship, performance or innovation, and may encompass a
single accomplishment or a body of work. These
contributions must have already matured and be generally
recognized as a significant achievement.
-
The inductee must have entered the air
show industry at least 10 years prior to the date of
induction.
-
The inductee does not need to be a member
of the International Council of Air Shows.
-
The inductee may be living or deceased.
Nomination
Process
The ICAS Foundation welcomes nominations to
the Air Show Hall of Fame throughout the year. Anyone may
submit a nomination for induction into the Air Show Hall of Fame
as long the nominee meets the minimum criteria for
induction. Nominations must be submitted electronically
using the
Air Show Hall of Fame Nominating Petition, and should be
sent to the Hall of Fame mailbox:
halloffame@icasfoundation.org.
The Air Show Hall of Fame Selection Committee
meets annually during July to select the class of inductees for
the year. Nominations received on or before June 30th
are considered. Inductions are usually announced in
August, and the induction ceremony is held during the
annual ICAS convention in December.
